New York Apartment - Studio in Harlem (NY-12309)

Staying at this studio has been perfect. The studio is very well located very close to the metro station, th neigbouthood is quiet and nice, good vibes around, restaurants, bars ans supermarkets. The studio is well equiped, the owner is very nice and comunication with her has been very easy by wassup or phone. She was very helpful.

I would absolutely recommend this apartment. It has all the amenities needed. The galley kitchen is great and fully stocked. The bathroom is amazing for a rental. All tiled and good storage. The mattress is comfortable and the layout is ideal for workspace as well, as I needed to partially work from the apartment on a daily basis on my computer. There is also a deep closet with sufficient storage space for a short term rental. I have stayed in other apartments on a short term basis and this one is far superior. It is a great deal with utilities and cable included in consideration of the area - near multiple subways, bars & restaurants and a 10 min walk to the north side of central park. Sophie was a pleasure as a landlord and I would gladly serve as a reference for future renters.

Great place! It was a 25 min walk from Columbia and was such a great and cozy place to live. There was not much noise and everyone was friendly. It was very clean when I got there and the owner was able to help me with anything that was needed.

In my opinion, the location of this flat is its best feature, very nice area, in a neighbourhood with soul and history. There are enough shops nearby, plus two big supermarkets, nice coffee shops too, and variety of (good) restaurants.
The flat is spacious enough, nicely decorated, with everything that might be needed, including small dining table, well equipped kitchen with dishwasher included, desk (nice), comfortable bed, and small sofa (sofa bed), very convenient.
Big plus is having laundry facilities in the building, for a fee (similar to the Laundromat).
For short stays I would definitely recommend it (I stayed four weeks). Not sure how it would be for longer stays as natural light and fresh air might be missed (though in winter that worked perfectly well).
The owner is really flexible and helpful. She agreed for my daughter to stay for a couple of weeks without any problem. At the end there was an issue with the towels (not sure what happened, she had to replace so took part of the deposit) but it was all handled very correctly.

The only bummer was that the place wasn't very clean when I got it. I spent half Saturday doing a thorough cleanup of bathroom, kitchen, cabinets, hoovering and dusting everything.
I'm still not sure that the bedding is washed after every customer (when I moved in it didnt look or feel clean) and I am quite certain when I gave it back it was not washed. (I removed it all in the morning and returned later that day to pick up my suitcase, and the same bedding was on the bed, it was wrinkled and didn't smell clean). I am sure the owner is not at fault, she has a person who cleans but I doubt this person is doing the job properly, she might need more supervision. A thorough sweeping to the basement stairs every so often would be good.

It is a lovely apartment and I felt very happy being there. Lighting could be improved. I personally missed having a radio and a more light weight comfortable chair for computer work.

We were very happy in the apartment, is very comfortable and the neighborhood is very nice. The owner was really kind, she gave us useful information about the different events in the neighborhood, and she made sure that we had all the necessary amenities.

The owner was helpful and a delight. The room was larger than I expected and very comfortable. I would rent there again.

I found this a great place to stay while in New York. Morning walks around central park and the vibrancy of Harlem and just a short train ride from the theatre district. And the landlady was great too so helpful. I have no hesitation in going back

The apartment is comfortable, well equipped and tastefully decorated, even if the access to the kitchen is not very convenient. The street where is it located is quiet and clean, inhabited by educated people. The owner was discreet, friendly and very helpful.

The apartment is really nice and comfortable, great value for money.

Overall really good experience in the studio. Very well equipped with everything one could need, even for a longer stay. Has a convenient location close to different services, Central Park and to a subway station with express trains to Downtown.

The landlord is really helpful and willing to solve any problem.

Very pleasant, well connected neighborhood. It could do with a little renovation of electric finishes.
