This fully furnished two bedroom apartment is located in Washington Heights neighborhood, a historic part of Harlem in Uptown Manhattan. The apartment is on the 2nd floor (considered 1st floor by Europeans) of a 3-story brownstone walk-up landmark building dating from the early 1900s. There is a video intercom system for guest entry and the convenience of on-site laundry facilities.
This New York apartment features two working gas fireplaces, granite kitchen countertops hardwood floors, and a central air conditioning system throughout the apartment. The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher and microwave in addition to the basic appliances. There is an elevated bar area with two chairs for casual meals, and a round dining table in the kitchen with four chairs for larger groups. A deskchair from the office can be added to accommodate an extra person, so overall 7 people can be seated for meals, though not at the same table. Down the hall are the bedrooms and an office area with a local phone line. One bedroom has a queen size bed and the other bedroom has a double sized bed and a convertible sofa bed. Both bedrooms have windows with southern exposure, overlooking the backyard garden, and the living room has three French windows with northern exposure, facing the street.
Washington Heights offers exceptional living in a quiet yet exciting area of Manhattan! You can relax in Jackie Robinson Park, just over two blocks west. There are many schools in the area: Boricua College (3 blocks away), the City College of New York (2 subway stops away), and Columbia University (3 to 4 stops away). A grocery store and a pharmacy are both within a block's walk and you will find delis and restaurants around the corner on Amsterdam Avenue.
The nearest subway station is just a block away, with the A/C trains. The B/D station is also nearby, about 3 blocks away. Both will connect you to Lower Manhattan and the rest of New York City.

It was a lovely place, lovely hostess, very cool area. Make sure you read the contract because the proprietor is a business person which I appreciated and learned from. The apt is well looked after and clean. |
