Make your home away from home on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in this alcove studio apartment. Located on East 61st Street and First Avenue, the apartment is on the 4th floor of a 5 story building with original accents that include arched doorways and basket-weave patterned wood flooring.
The living area of this studio is perfectly situated between the counter of the open kitchen and the sleeping area. It is furnished with a sofa that can conveniently pull out into a double-sized bed, a small coffee table and a television. The sleeping area is separated by an archway (no doors) and has a full size bed and a cute dining table that can also double as a desk to create a workspace. The kitchen has granite counterops and a tiled backsplash, as well as a high counterspace that provides extra room for meal preparation.
Please make note that this apartment can be noisy from traffic outside.
Outside of this studio apartment are plenty of shops and restaurants for you to enjoy. Right around the corner from this apartment is Clearview Cinemas on First Avenue. There is also a restaurant conveniently across from this theater called Barbecue Parlor (on the corner of East 62nd Street) where you can wine and dine as an alternative to cooking at home. There are also supermarkets and plenty of bars nearby to enjoy the New York City nightlife. Of course, as you walk west towards Central Park, you will pass famous streets like Madison Avenue, an opportunity for high class window shopping, and 5th Avenue, also known as "Museum Mile". Also in the area is Hunter College, one subway stop north, and Rockefeller University and the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, one of the most famous hospitals in New York.
The nearest subway station provides access to two major subway lines, the 4, 5 and 6 and the N, Q, and R. What is great about this is that some of these trains run local, helping you get around the Upper East Side or Midtown, and some run express, taking you efficiently to downtown or uptown Manhattan. This transit hub is about 3 blocks away from the apartment. The Roosevelt Island Tram is even closer, just 2 blocks west, and provides a unique experience if you need to reach the island!

The owner was prompt in helping with problems such as the wifi and clogged toilets except for the last month after we paid our rental. Nevertheless he was nice. |

We welcome all feedback as a way to make the next experience better. We encourage tenants to communicate their concerns when they occur, that way we can immediately address any concerns you may have. My husband and I live in the neighborhood and are always available. When a tenant notifies us about a maintenance concern, we do whatever we can to address it as prompt as possible. We always use best efforts to communicate if we need to access the apartment, and only come by if absolutely necessary. |

Thanks so much for the feedback, Jerraldine! With regards to the pictures, we just revisited the unit and took new ones. We sent our professional photographer to make sure our pictures accurately reflected the apartment. |
