This fully furnished alcove studio brings you all of the benefits of a high-rise luxury building combined with the hustle and bustle of downtown Brooklyn outside your door. Found at the border of the Fort Greene neighborhood, you've got Brooklyn Heights next door, Vinegar Hill to the north and Clinton Hill to the east. Situated on the 4th floor (considered 3rd floor by Europeans) of a 41-story modern building, located at Gold Street and Johnson Street, this apartment offers you access to a gym, a indoor pool, a common lounge and even a viewing theater with a wall-mounted flat screen TV! A 24 hour doorman provides entry to tenants and guests, and there is of course an elevator to bring you to you floor.
This alcove studio also has many modern luxuries, including a in-unit washer and dryer, stainless steel appliances and a flat screen television. The large window in the living area brightens the entire space thanks to the 4th floor location with no nearby buildings blocking the view. The sleeping alcove is separated by a low wall from the living area, so you can keep your bed private when guests visit. Dark lacquered wood floors line the space and make the white walls pop. You can relax in the comfy sitting area on one of the matching sofa / chair pieces. The sofa in the living room can also be converted into a double size bed for visitors. The kitchen comes equipped with a double-doored refrigerator with ice maker, a gas stove/oven with a microwave built-in above, and the ever convenient dishwasher. You also have a small toaster over, a coffee maker and blender at your disposal, so feel free to invest your time in making some tasty meals! Please note that the dining table pictured will no longer be available during rentals. Near the entrance is the bathroom, designed with a modern touch, as can be seen by the square sink.
This alcove studio is found in Fort Greene, a popular part of Brooklyn just across the river from Manhattan's Financial District. Fort Greene is located just north of Prospect Heights. At the junction of several neighborhoods, this area gives you a different vibe depending on the direction you head. Immediately outside the building, you have several main thoroughfares, including Flatbush Avenue and Tillary Street, lined with office buildings and high-end apartment buildings, but if you turn down any of the nearby smaller streets, you will find small shops and convenience stores, as well as restaurants and delis. The Polytechnic Institute of NYU is just two blocks away, and you also have Commodore Barry Park, which hosts concerts and festivals in additional to being a nice place to relax, about 5 blocks away. For joggers, Fort Greene Park, the neighborhood's namesake, is recommended, with its hills and stairs sure to give you a work out! If you head a few blocks east down either Myrtle or Dekalb Avenues, you will be sure to stumble on fantastic dining options, and of course in the other direction you have the famous Grimaldi's (Brooklyn Heights), claimed to be one of the best pizzerias in NYC...as you may notice by the line that extends outside the door. Brooklyn Heights also gives access to the Brooklyn Bridge, a must-see for each New Yorker, no matter how temporary, and many trendy bars.
To get outside the neighborhoods, catch one of the many trains just a few blocks to the south. You have the Jay Street - MetroTech transit hub about 5 short blocks away, a station that serves the A/C, F and N/R lines, as well as the Borough Hall stop, that has the 2/3 and 4/5 lines. The DeKalb Avenue / Flatbush Avenue station also gives access to the B/Q/R trains, so you should have no problem reaching Manhattan in just one stop, and then getting wherever you need to go in New York!
