Imagine yourself with a lovely furnished studio in trendy Chelsea, Manhattan. Doesn't it sound like the ideal situation for NYC living? Well this 3rd floor (2nd floor for Europeans) studio apartment can be your gateway to the Big Apple. Situated in a 4-story walk-up building in the heart of this art-filled neighborhood, you are also just north of Greenwich Village and east of the Meatpacking District, putting world-class dining, architecture and fashion just outside your door.
This apartment is a microcosm of the area surrounding it, with original artwork dotting the walls and simple but classic furnishings that exude casual elegance. You will be reminded every day that you are in New York with your painted brick decorative fireplace in the living area, with brickwork that extends to the wall facing the sofa bed. This sofa converts into a double size bed to provide sleeping accommodation. The room also contains a dark wood credenza with a flat screen TV with cable and wireless internet access. In the corner of the room, you have a small dining area near the kitchen entrance. The kitchen is cute, with white cabinets and gas stove to keep things bright, reflecting the light that comes in through the window, which is also great for ventilation when cooking at home. There is a coffee maker, espresso maker and a toaster for breakfast and simpler meals. Upon arrival, you'll be pleased to find provisions to welcome you, such as coffee, tea, milk, pastries or bread and jam, and even wine or beer! A fantastic way to settle in with as little stress as possible.
This apartment can be found in the popular Chelsea part of Manhattan, near the intersection of 15th Street & Ninth Avenue. Known for its art galleries and fashion district, this area is always ahead of the trends, even by New York's standards. You also have fantastic dining options around here, with Morimoto (0.2mi/320m) and Del Posto (0.3mi/480m) both just over one block away, founded by famous chefs and serving acclaimed fare gorgeously arranged. Also in the same area is the High Line Park (0.3mi/480m), the elevated former railway that has been converted to a public space, complete with lounge chairs and food carts, offering great views of the awesome buildings of the area as well as the Hudson River. Walk along the High Line for additional attractions like The Chelsea Market (495 feet/150m) and The Whitney Museum (0.4mi/645m)! If you venture three blocks east to West 17th Street and 7th Avenue, you can visit the Rubin Museum of Art (0.4mi/645m), with a unique Himalayan collection that is not to be missed. For nightlife, don't miss the Greenwich Village scene, with both quiet bars to meet friends as well as trendy club-like lounges.
Please be aware that this apartment is in Chelsea which is a lively neighborhood and can be noisy at times.
When you need to venture out of the 'hood, just hop on the train, conveniently located on 14th street/8th Avenue (0.2mi/320m). The A/C/E line will take you north, though Penn Station and Columbus Circle all the way uptown to Harlem, as well as through Brooklyn. You also have the L line practically outside your door, which runs east-west along 14th Street to Union Square, great for a Whole Foods run or a stop at the outdoor Green Market, held year-round. It will also take you to Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where you can see how the other boroughs live. There is also lines 1, 2, 3 located 0.3 miles away (480m).

This apartment is lovely. It is a bit outdated, but otherwise amazing location and space. It is a quiet street, packages have not gotten stolen, the heat works, it is flexible on extending the lease, etc. The only complaint was when I first moved in the stench was not previously mentioned or removed. With my own cleaning, it has almost fully gone away. However, it would have been nice to know about. This was a minor issue, and I would not change anything else about my stay! |

I am very sorry to hear this! We always get very good or excellent reviews. No guest ever mentioned to me any issues related to smell. I am always on hand to help with whatever the guest needs or wants. I'm very surprised as the apt. is always thoroughly cleaned before someone new moves in. That said, I will make sure to be aware of any issues in this regard for all future rentals! |

The apartment was very comfortable and I felt at home. I actually miss it! For the amenities, the only thing that I find that can be improved upon is the air conditioning which needs more power since it was getting warmer during the later part of my stay. Otherwise, everything worked well. |

Francesca, it was a pleasure having you stay! We will address the air conditioner situation, must be time for an upgrade. Thanks for the heads up! |

The owner was very friendly and extremely helpful at all times. The apartment was exactly as described and had everything I needed for a very enjoyable stay. Plenty of New York atmosphere, easy access to the Subway, eating places and shopping all within easy walking distance. A great stay! Thanks! |

I spent 4 months as a university student in New-York and had a great stay in this appartment: ideal location (meatpacking district with easy access to the subway), very comfortable, clean and good surface. A special thanks to the owner for her hospitality and kindness. |

The apartment is great! Location is perfect, close to the subway and easily accessible. Although it can get noisy over the weekends due to the proximity to nightlife and general busyness of the area, it didn't bother me too much. After all, New York is the city that never sleeps! Recommend ear plugs for those who are light sleepers. The apartment itself is well decorated and very cosy. The owner even stocked it with bread and necessities as a welcome! It has everything I needed for a comfortable stay and I felt at home straight away. |

It was great having you Karine! New York is the city that never sleeps! So true! I don't usually hear back from guests that the street noise is bothersome, sorry you experienced that. I am glad all else was a great experience! |

My partner and I stayed in this apartment for almost a month, in December 2013. To start with the strongest points, the location of the apartment was perfect, at least it was for our purposes--well connected to other Manhattan suburbs as well as Brooklyn, just a short stroll away from lively Greenwich Village, and literally minutes away from always bustling Chelsea Market. |

My stay in this apartment was excellent. The owner was extremely hospitable and happy to help with any queries. The welcome basket of goodies (tea/coffee etc. and toiletries) were greatly appreciated. The location is excellent; very close to the Chelsea Market and 14th Street (ACE & L) subway access. Plenty of everything (banks, post office, food, laundry, entertainment) nearby. |
