Excellent apartment and amazing location! Very responsive landlord that quickly answered all our questions, addressed and solved issues. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the return of our security deposit experience. We were charged almost 60% of the price of a new small dishwasher (over $200) as the landlord claimed we damaged its latch and it had to be fixed. The dishwasher was functioning and the latch was always difficult to operate, but did not prevent usage. We failed to mention the issue which we obviously should have as it would have to be fixed during our thee month stay since it was a not a result of us damaging it, but using it. When renting this unit make sure to complain and point out any issue no matter how small or part of your security deposit will be withtheld. |

Thank you for your feedback! It will be used to improve future services. We understand you were very happy with your stay, and you state that the apartment was excellent and the location amazing, but that your overall satisfaction was slightly impacted by the deduction of $213.09 made from your security deposit. The deduction was the exact cost of the parts and labor for replacing part of the dishwasher that was damaged during your stay, as it could not be fixed by the handyman and that part is necessary for the dishwasher to function. The cost is documented in the repair invoice and other documentation we sent you when we promptly returned the rest of your security deposit (you received back the vast majority of your security deposit). We have also reached out to you to explain and try to address your concern. We understand that you feel you should not pay for the repair because you feel that security deposits are, in your words, to repair "intentional damage." However, please understand that security deposits are not only for intentional damage. Also please understand that the deduction was actually less than 1/3 the cost of replacing the dishwasher, as we have explained to you separately. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at any time! We would like to reaffirm our commitment to customer satisfaction. We apologize for any confusion and would like to gently remind you that it is important to maintain all appliances in proper condition for future tenants. The small deduction from your security deposit went toward putting the apartment in proper condition for a future tenant. Thank you again, and best wishes to you! |
