This furnished studio apartment, located in Gramercy Park in Manhattan, is in a neighborhood that is a hub of relative quiet in the middle of bustling New York City. Gramercy has long been known for its historic townhomes and the only private park in New York City (Gramercy Park itself) as well as well-known landmarks like the Flatiron Building. This studio apartment is located at 19th Street and 1st Avenue on the ground floor of a five-story walk up period building.
The studio apartment’s furnishings include a double-sized bed in the living area as well as a sofa that folds out into a double-sized bed, air conditioning, WiFi Internet access, a television with cable, and a dining table; linen for the beds and towels for the bathroom are included as well. There is also a well-stocked kitchen that is open to the living area, which comes complete with a fridge/freezer, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. The sofa serves to separate the sleeping area from a more casual living area where you can relax by watching television or entertaining a few guests.
The immediate area of Gramercy is upscale with properties costing up into the millions, but there are plenty of things to do and experience that won’t require you to be a millionaire. For instance, there are many restaurants nearby, including recognizable staples like Subway sandwiches (just around the corner from this studio apartment, right on 1st Avenue), a neighborhood brick-oven pizzeria by the name of Posto at the end of the block (0.1 miles away, approx. 0.2 km) and the casual Adriatic Italian Restaurant that’s even closer to this apartment on the same block (less than 0.1 miles away). Now, that’s just on the same block – go up two blocks (about 0.1 miles, or 0.2 km) and you’ll find Thai, bagels, cafes, a Starbucks, and plenty of other places to eat and enjoy. There’s a grocery/deli just on the next block to the west (about 0.1 miles away, or 0.2 km), and nearby is Gramercy Park (0.3 miles to the west, or about 0.5 km) and Stuyvesant Square (0.2 miles south, or about 0.3 km). The Theater District on Broadway is only 2.5 miles away to the north (about 4 km) and Union Square is 0.7 miles to the west (about 1.1 km).
For public transportation, you can head to the subway station at 1st Avenue and 14th Street, 5 blocks away, to catch the L train line. Or head 0.7 miles (around 1.1 km) to 14th Street and Broadway at Union Square, where a station serves lines 4, 5, 6, L, N, Q, and R!
Please note there is no washer or dryer in the studio apartment, and there are no laundry facilities in the building, but there are several Laundromats and cleaners businesses nearby; one is just a few doors down, and four more are less than a block away.
