This furnished alcove studio apartment is located on the 4th floor (considered 3rd by Europeans) of a 5-story prewar walk-up building in the East Village of Manhattan. The building has a locked security gate as well as a front door security system. The apartment itself has an eastern exposure, and complimentary wireless Internet access is available.
The living room of the apartment features hardwood floors and two windows that let in natural light. A double futon bed faces a flat-screen TV so you can enjoy watching American shows if you want to stay in for a night. The room also contains a dining table that seats 3 and is conveniently close to the open kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with oven plus stove, microwave, fridge with freezer, coffee maker and toaster. The sleeping alcove has a window, queen-size bed and dresser. Some artwork can be found throughout the apartment, which gives the rental a homey feel. Lastly, the tiled bathroom includes a bathtub with shower, WC and washbasin.
You can find the apartment on East 13th Street & First Avenue in the lively New York neighborhood of the East Village. This area is known for its plethora of excellent restaurants, intimate cafes and fun bars. To name just a few, you can’t go wrong with Vanessa’s Dumplings, Artichoke Basille’s Pizza or Pylos Restaurant. Tompkins Square Park, just 4 blocks from the apartment, is right in the heart of this bustling NYC neighborhood. Furthermore, there is a grocery store and a Laundromat less than a block away. For more diverse grocery shopping, walk about 4 blocks west from the rental to Union Square, where you will find a Whole Foods Market and a Trader Joe’s. Also at Union Square, check out the many shops, like Forever 21 and Barnes & Noble, and walk through the park where there is almost always some kind of event or protest worth seeing. Moreover, every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday you can buy fresh produce at the famous Greenmarket. Conveniently, Union Square is one of New York’s major subway stations—you can catch the N, Q, R, 4, 5, 6 & L trains here. Alternatively, you can catch the L train at the 1 Avenue / 14 Street, just one block from the apartment.
Please note that the heating system in this apartment is radiator steam, which can cause loud clanging when in use during winter season.

I found the owner & the care takers Wilson & Carla to be very helpful and attentive to my needs. They went the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable & had every thing I needed. I will definitely stay there again on my next visit to New York. |
