Description
Studio Apartment in Upper East Side (NY-16392)
Studio, 1 Bathroom - Sleeps 2

Enjoy one of New York’s most desirable neighborhoods without breaking the bank with this fully furnished studio apartment, located at East 77th Street and 1st Avenue on Manhattan’s famous Upper East Side on the first story (considered the ground floor by Europeans) of an early twentieth century low-rise building complete with a security system at the exterior door.

Hardwood floors and tasteful décor in white with splashes of red make the studio stand out. A double bed faces the cable TV at the far end of the apartment right next to the window, while a sofa provides a place to relax and side tables give you space to make your own. Three closets are also available during your stay.

The open kitchen makes the most of the space, featuring a gas stove and oven, a refrigerator (and freezer) and a side table with a microwave, coffee maker and toaster. There is cabinet space above and below the counters and a dining table for two right in the kitchen.

The Upper East Side, known as one of New York City’s most affluent neighborhoods, is home to many of New York’s premier cultural, culinary and recreational destinations:

  • It’s a short walk to John Jay Park (.2mi/260m) and the Bobby Wagner Walk right on the East River or you can head to Central Park (.7mi/1.2km) for boat rides and concerts in the summer or ice skating in the winter.
  • Diverse local food options give you lots of choices: grab some classic deli fare at 2nd Avenue Deli (.2mi/280m), sample authentic Persian food at Persepolis (.4mi/600m) or try a vegan meal at Candle Café (.4mi/700m).
  • Museum Mile along Fifth Avenue includes world-class collections at the Metropolitan Museum (1mi/1.6km), the adjacent Neue Galerie (1.2mi/1.9km) of German and Austrian art and the iconic Guggenheim Museum (1.3mi/2.1km).

The rest of New York City is easily accessible by subway. The nearest station to you is 77 Street / Lexington Avenue (6 trains, .4mi/700m).

Plenty of space and great location. Plenty of dishware and silverware available. Great bathroom size. Could have had a more comfortable couch/bed.

The location was great, and the furnished apartment was pretty good. The building manager and cleaning lady are excellent to help me and stay there comfortably.
I couldn't give five stars because of the pre-war building that is old and not built in the venting system in the bathroom and kitchen ( only portable AC vents outside through the window). Especially in summer, it was humid inside despite AC being turned On. Otherwise, it was a great experience!!

Hi Hueonju,
I am glad you had a good experience. The AC is not central but works fine and refreshes the units well. Although all the prewar buildings are old, we do our best to provide the current comfort, providing recent furniture and full equipment, even iron and hairdryer.

The owner was kind and help a lot about the process of renting but the building was very old and especially the bathroom needed complete renovation. Air condition was not effective in hot days and had loud sound. The location and neighborhood was excellent.

Dear Leila,

The building is a typical pre war building of New York, the unit is old but clean and comfortable, the furniture is one year old and it is very well equipped, kitchenware, hair dryer, iron, linen etc. that are also less than one year old. There were some very hot days this summer, over 100°, so it might have been difficult for the AC, which is also just one year old, to cool enough the unit, however, this is exceptional and I have never had any other tenant complaining about the AC. The city seems noisy, especially when coming from a quiet place, but this is New York; however, the area, the street and the building are rather quiet. Finally, you put between 3 and 5 every item (except one) and sum up 2 your experience, which does not seem very logical. Whatever your concern was, you may have contacted the owner (me), the manager or the super, who is there everyday, as we have always been available for you. We are very reactive, and will always be for the future tenants.
