Apartment Rental: 4 months

Reviewing this kind of apartment is intrinsically hard, because one goes into it knowing what to expect.
- This is a very intricate, small apartment, with a great number of compromises made in order to make it liveable, and have an actual bedroom.
- These compromises were generally made in the right places, and no expense was spared in things like an amazing bed, which shone in the overall experience.
- The apartment came 'furnished' but was missing so many items that I think the qualification was a stretch.
- However, the landlord was extremely accommodating, and accepted to pay for what was necessary to make it _actually furnished_ that we bought during our stay, meaning our apartment had additional (much needed!) storage, chairs, sofa, and a TV upgrade.

This place offers:
- Pretty great value
- Bipolar location: Extremely central, quiet, yet probably the single worst street of manhattan. The entrance scares everyone away except homeless people, street smells and, well, it's port authority. If you're able to look past that, it's extremely convenient and past the door the building is ok, and the internal courtyard makes the inner 4 story building quiet and almost feel isolated in the middle of manhattan which is a huge plus.
- A massive bed, two opposite-side windows, an oversize fridge, can _technically_ fit 4 people even though it's a huge stretch/for emergencies only.
- An utter lack of storage space. Common for manhattan, but this takes it to the next level. Anyone coming here for more than a few weeks should not be a hoarder or it simply becomes untenable
- A well well-equipped micro-kitchen, with so little ventilation that I would not recommend anyone using it.

Knowing what to expect, this apartment delivers, but it has some serious drawbacks meaning that I cannot really recommend the apartment if a person does not see it first.
Probably feels more spacious for single person than a couple, still liveable as a young couple but probably not to be considered if some of the points mentioned above are deal-breakers for you. The place is probably tinier than any you've previously lived in. For the size, it offers pretty impressive features and is surprisingly liveable though, so it's not at all a bad experience either.
