This furnished room for rent is in a shared 2 bedroom/2 bath apartment located on the 9th floor (equivalent to the 8th floor European) of a high-rise, elevator building with laundry facilities near West 73rd Street & Amsterdam Avenue on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
The apartment dates back to 1902 and retains classic features such as spacious rooms, high, ornate ceilings and decorative woodwork. The apartment is classically styled with hardwood floors throughout. The shared dining room (labeled Living Room 2 in the floorpan picture) is full of old-world charm with carved wooden door frames and wood beamed ceilings. It features antique cabinets and clocks, a large dining table and large decorative fireplace. Off the dining room is a pantry area that leads to the kitchen. The shared kitchen is designed with wooden cabinetry and includes all the equipment you could need to prepare meals at home such as stove/oven, microwave, toaster, dishwasher and refrigerator. A countertop area with bar stool makes a cozy spot to grab a quick bite. A laundry washer/dryer are located here but you can also find a full laundry room in the building.
The bedroom for rent is located at the opposite end of the apartment from the roommate’s bedroom which provides privacy and has its own private bathroom. The bedroom is fitted with a double bed and wooden furniture including a desk with chair for studying or working. A clothes rack and cabinet with shelves provide room for storage of your belongings. A private bathroom is available adjacent to the room for rent. It features wooden wainscoting, and antique claw foot tub/shower, pedestal sink and toilet.
This ornate building from the 1900’s offers spacious living arrangements not easily found today, and all right in the heart of the Upper West Side close to shopping, dining and entertainment. Spend the day enjoying the natural beauty of Central Park (.4mi/.64km away). Just a short walk directly east from the building you will find Strawberry Fields, the famous spot in Central Park dedicated to the memory of former Beatle John Lennon, where fans gather to play their favorite Beatles song or leave flowers on the “Imagine” memorial mosaic. There are plenty of dining options in the area; try Polpette 71 (.2mi/.32km away) for Italian cuisine with a lovely garden seating area or Le Pif (.1mi/.16km away) for French cuisine and wine amid cozy woodwork and romantic dim lighting or stop by for their brunch.
The closest subway access can be found at 72nd Street / Broadway (1/2/3 lines) and 72nd Street / Central Park West (B/C lines).

Fantastic - beautiful apartment, pleasant housemate, fantastic location, and very private - private bathroom! I wish I never had to move, but school went online due to the pandemic and I no longer have a need. A great place at a fantastic value in NYC. |
