This person should not have been renting her space; the apartment as a whole was not fit for renting to strangers. She in fact made the decision to not rent the room I took for a month any more, in order to be able to take better care of her family, and I think it was a wise one. I liked her very much as a person, but the place was an embarrassing mess. The place was in a frequent state of repair by the supervisor while I was there. once again, I have not a complaint about her as an individual, but am relieved that she will not continue to rent this space.

Dear Carole,
It's sad you feel this way after the way my family and I treated you. it's extremely hurtful. We have three other roommates and, I did not have any complaint from them.
It turns out with very little notice the management let us know that the electrical wiring had to be redone, the project took two days in the kitchen and everything was immediately cleaned. On another occasion the bathtub was re-glazed and once again the bathroom was clean by one of the roommates. Both kitchen and bathroom we're always extremely clean.
Regarding not renting the room anymore, that was the agreement I made with my daughter years ago it had absolutely nothing to do with work being done in the apartment.
There was always a second bathroom available and the times you were not able to cook I provided food.

The apartment is located near the Washington Bridge, so you hear the sound of car horns and traffic all the time. When I arrived, the apartment was filled with garbage (not very clean to welcome someone!). I saw a multitude of insects and other small bugs during my stay. The tenant was late to give me back my deposit (2h late... luckily I did not have a plane to catch!). Otherwise, the room is pretty good and spacious.

Hello Aurélie, regarding your security deposit, I let you know ahead of time that I had an appointment and told you the exact time I will be back in the apartment, had you had plans of catching a plane, I would have ether given you the money the day before or made arrangements for someone to give it to you. At no point did you tell me that you had an issue regarding the time I will be back to give you the deposit.

The day you arrived I let you know that all the things that I had piled up were things to be donated to Goodwill for people with low income.
There was never garbage in the apartment, the very next day after your arrival I took everything to Goodwill and the area was completely clear.

The location of the apartment, we are located two blocks from the A train, we have the most breath taken view of the Hudson River, We have security that's provided by the Presbyterian hospital 24/7, and most importantly we are in a very quiet neighborhood. I have always made sure the apartment is clean and fumigate often. I even have a cleaning lady that comes ones a month to clean the entire apartment, even the bathroom that was used by Ms. Aurélie (I have my own private bathroom).

The room has a new executive size refrigerator, a very expensive & new Sealy Posturepedic mattress, 46"LED TV, great range Wi-Fi that is always maintained and working 100%, huge close in the room, oversize dresser, a lot of light and extra storage space. I provide every room a mesh for the windows to prevent bugs from coming in and it also prevents the rain from coming in the room. I had also provided you with a AC tower fan that truly cools the room. I have paid $395 per solid wood door in every room of the house to insure that you do not get the sound coming from anyone body's room and the windows in the entire apartment are double glassed and all working properly.

You never address your concerns to me the entire time you were living in the apartment.

The apartment itself is very nice, lovely view, very well equipped. However Ana is a very authoritative lady who imposes her lifestyle without taking into consideration the fact there are 2 other people in the apartment. She clearly let us know she hates having people staying at her place but that she's doing this for money, which is understandable in a way.

I left this apartment because I could not carry on feeling I was a stranger in an apartment where I'd been living for 4 months and that I rented every month.

This roommate wanted people constantly sleeping over, the week before she left she had three friends sleep over, one for six days, one for two weeks and the third for three weeks. She wanted to use my home like a revolving hotel and was not happy when I told her I would charge all her friends.

The room is rented to one person, it's not a party house, it is our home!

We appreciate your review Emma. It enabled us to get confirmation from the owner that there is a charge for overnight guests and we can now inform future roommates interested in this apartment share in the future.
