This four bedroom apartment share, is located in Washington Heights, an area of Uptown Manhattan, New York City. The apartment is on the fifth floor of a six-story elevator building that dates back to 1924. Entrance into the low-rise building is secured with an intercom-buzzer and video surveillance. You will have access to on-site laundry facilities and wireless internet.
The furnished rental has exposure to the north, west, and east and features a combination of hardwood, tiled, and carpeted floors throughout. Please note that this is a bedroom for rent in a shared apartment. While the bedroom is your private space, other areas such as the living room, kitchen and bathroom will be shared with roommates. The bedroom for rent features a double-sized bed, a desk and a TV. The separate eat-in kitchen has white cabinetry with ample storage space and dark-wood countertops that match the stools at the breakfast bar. It is equipped with all of the main appliances and cooking / eating utensils, as well as a washer & dryer, which you can use for an additional fee. The bathroom has a bathtub-shower, toilet, mirrored medicine cabinet, and washbasin. You’ll find adequate storage space for your toiletries in the cupboards beneath the sink and above the WC. Please note that there is a small dog in the apartment, taken care of by the owner.
In Washington Heights, Haven Avenue itself is residential, but head just two blocks to Broadway, and you’ll be in a more commercial area filled with ethnic restaurants that serve some of New York’s best Central American fare. Also, located in the neighborhood are grocery stores, pharmacies, bodegas, and cafés. Academics institutions within close proximity include Columbia University (2.8mi), among others. Visit Highbridge Park (0.5mi), 9 blocks west, where you can relax among the greenery, enjoy waterfront views of the East River, and even go mountain biking! Alternatively, one block east, you can visit Fort Washington Park (2.4mi), which runs along the Hudson River and is home to the Little Red Lighthouse (2.7mi)—Manhattan’s only lighthouse that’s often featured in popular children’s books!
This four bedroom apartment is just one block from the 175 Street / Fort Washington Avenue subway station (0.1mi), where you can take the A train.

This person should not have been renting her space; the apartment as a whole was not fit for renting to strangers. She in fact made the decision to not rent the room I took for a month any more, in order to be able to take better care of her family, and I think it was a wise one. I liked her very much as a person, but the place was an embarrassing mess. The place was in a frequent state of repair by the supervisor while I was there. once again, I have not a complaint about her as an individual, but am relieved that she will not continue to rent this space. |

The apartment is located near the Washington Bridge, so you hear the sound of car horns and traffic all the time. When I arrived, the apartment was filled with garbage (not very clean to welcome someone!). I saw a multitude of insects and other small bugs during my stay. The tenant was late to give me back my deposit (2h late... luckily I did not have a plane to catch!). Otherwise, the room is pretty good and spacious. |

Hello Aurélie, regarding your security deposit, I let you know ahead of time that I had an appointment and told you the exact time I will be back in the apartment, had you had plans of catching a plane, I would have ether given you the money the day before or made arrangements for someone to give it to you. At no point did you tell me that you had an issue regarding the time I will be back to give you the deposit. |

The apartment itself is very nice, lovely view, very well equipped. However Ana is a very authoritative lady who imposes her lifestyle without taking into consideration the fact there are 2 other people in the apartment. She clearly let us know she hates having people staying at her place but that she's doing this for money, which is understandable in a way. |

This roommate wanted people constantly sleeping over, the week before she left she had three friends sleep over, one for six days, one for two weeks and the third for three weeks. She wanted to use my home like a revolving hotel and was not happy when I told her I would charge all her friends. |

We appreciate your review Emma. It enabled us to get confirmation from the owner that there is a charge for overnight guests and we can now inform future roommates interested in this apartment share in the future. |
