The Financial District, the southernmost point of Manhattan on the east side and is a bustling center of the world's financial industry as well as an area with several Manhattan universities. Wall Street, the New York Stock exchange and the New York Federal Reserve Bank are all symbols of the Financial District. Schools in the area include Metropolitan College, Pace University, and Polytechnic University. For those working or studying in the Financial District there are a limited selection of rooms for rent in the area.
In addition to all of the finance, the area has the historic beginning of New York City including Trinity Church, the Customs House, Federal Hall and South Street Seaport.
There are not many rooms to rent in the Financial District due to its small size and prevalence of commercial, educational and governmental buildings. Most rooms to rent in the Financial District are in high-rise apartment buildings. The Financial District offers excellent transportation options with most of the New York subway lines within walking distance.
