Situated between Place de la Bastille and rue de Lappe.
Lively street featuring a number of trendy cafes and restaurants starting on the broad and historic Place de la Bastille where you can find the new Opera considered as one of the best in the world, inaugurated for the 200th anniversary of the French Revolution. Also in a short walking distance is the singular royal Place des Vosges, Paris' oldest and arguably most beautiful square having been the place of residence of many historic personalities. Built by Henri IV its perfect symmetry and verticality are fine examples of classical French architecture. There are many precious museums, arts galleries, antique shops, choice restaurants, cafes, and other convenience shops in the neighborhood.
Located on the 3rd floor of an early 19th century walk up building equipped with a security system and provided with a full time caretaker, this pleasant 32m² (approx. 344 sq ft) alcove studio apartment has white painted walls, a neat parquet floor, and 2,30m high ceilings. It is ideal for a couple.
Following the small hall is the 22m² (approx. 237 sq ft) living room northeast exposed and facing a silent courtyard. It is fitted out with a 140cm wide double sofa bed (straight on the floor when open), a round black dining table with two director chairs, two stools, a TV standing on a small cabinet, a stereo, recessed wall shelves, a full-length wall mirror, a fridge, a floor lamp and a houseplant. It has one window screened by Venetian blinds overlooking the calm courtyard.
At the far end of the living room, to the right side the 4,50m² (approx. 48 sq ft) alcove is set apart by a floor to ceiling curtain, furnished with a 140cm wide double bed, a recessed wall to wall closet, and a floor lamp.
The hall opens onto the separate toilet and the kitchen, both on the left. In the kitchen, a sliding door opens to the narrow bathroom.
The kitchen has tiled walls and floor, enlightened and ventilated by a window protected by Venetian blinds. It has a wooden worktop with two electric burners and a white sink. In addition, there are a microwave oven, an electric coffee maker and kettle, a toaster, a washing machine, as well as wooden cupboards containing all the utensils.
The bathroom features a shower cabin protected by a glass door, a white washbasin and a mosaic framed wall mirror.
The closest metro stations are Bastille (lines 1, 5, and 8) and Bréguet Sabin (line 5).
Internet is available.

The [Paris] apartment was fine, comfortable and livable. We have no complaints. The photos on the original advertisement corresponded favorably with reality "on site." There were a few added nice things that we found out after getting there: most notably the Gardien (as the concierge was called). [He] was always pleasant and very helpful with a couple of problems: electricity, keys, general advice, etc. He kept the halls and stairways impeccably clean. The street was very convenient, within walking distance of bakery, post office, restaurants, stores and markets. The bus lines were very convenient. |
