Neighborhood:
This street is perpendicular to the Seine’s Left Bank, between Rue Mazarine and Quai de Conti.
It is an exclusive, elegant street in the high-demand Saint Germain des Près neighborhood, one of the most attractive and historic areas of the Left Bank. The Parisien center of the latest and most chic fashion shops, there are also a number of select restaurants and traditional cafes, including the historic Les Deux Magots and Café de Flore, favorite haunts of famous French existentialists and expatriated American literate. Nearby are the rue de Buci open-air market, and the oldest restaurant in Paris, Le Procope, with excellent fresh seafood and French traditional specialties; it was patronized by Voltaire in the 18th century.
Premises:
This is a pleasant apartment located on the fourth French floor of an 18th century building with an elevator, equipped with a security system. It can accommodate up to one couple and one single.
Painted all white, the apartment has east and south exposed double-glazed windows with outside shutters; they overlook the quaint streets below.
The L-shaped living room has three large windows. In the first part, floor-to-ceiling sliding doors separate it from the hall. It has a 120cm wide sofa bed, a decorative fireplace with a gilded frame mirror above, and an area rug. On the other side is a large rectangular hardwood table with a sculpted bench and folding chairs.
Wireless Internet access is available.
The open kitchen is equipped with four vitro-ceramic burners topped by a cooker hood, an oven, a refrigerator, a freezer, a microwave, a dishwasher, a coffee maker and a toaster.
A small corridor with bookshelves leads to the bedroom. It is furnished with two single beds side by side (0.90cm wide each) that can be turned into a queen-size bed. There are designer floor lamps, a pleasant 1930s all-mirrored dressing table, a roomy built-in closet, and a window.
The tiled bathroom is accessible through the living room. It contains a bathtub, a washbasin, a toilette and an electric towel-drying rack.
In the hallway, which links the living room to the bedroom, there is a walk-in closet that contains a washing machine.
Heat and hot water are electric and individually metered.
The nearest metro station is Mabillon (line 10).
