Or, take a left on Union Avenue, just around the corner, and you'll run into Barcade, a unique bar with over 30 arcade video games, as well as a rotating selection of craft beers on tap (4 blocks away). Just a block further is Dumont, an excellent restaurant serving New American style food with a great backyard area. The neighborhood has many music venues tucked into different corners, as well as plenty of art galleries. You can also enjoy McCarren Park, a huge grassy expanse with athletic fields, within walking distance or just 1 stop north on the G train.
The nearest subway station is Lorimer Street/Metropolitan Avenue, which serves the L train, taking you to Manhattan in 2 stops (Union Square in 5 stops), as well as the G train, which runs north to Greenpoint and Queens and south to Clinton Hill/Fort Green and Park Slope, putting 3 of New York City's boroughs within 3 train stops of the apartment.
