Enjoy the best of both worlds with this renovated one bedroom apartment in a landmark building on Manhattan's Upper West Side. This apartment has sleek modern appliances, but retains charm from its prewar orgins, as seen in the painted exposed brick wall. Additionally, it has a great location just over a block from Central Park on West 87th Street and Columbus Avenue! The apartment receives plenty of natural light, as it is on the top floor of this 5-story building (considered 4-story by Europeans). A buzzer-intercom system provides entry for guests and the building has laundry access and a bike rack in the basement.
Granite counters is just one of the perks that this apartment offers. The main spaces are lined with hardwood floors, while the kitchen is tiled in red, providing a lovely contrast to the granite countertops and backsplash. Here you have a matching fridge, dishwasher, stove and microwave set, the perfect spot to create meals that you can enjoy.
This apartment is situated in the heart of the Upper West Side on 87th Street and Columbus Avenue. Columbus Avenue and Amsterdam Avevnue are absolutely lined with restaurants and shops, try one of the addictive cookies at David Chang's Momofuku Milk Bar, just around the corner from this one bedroom apartment. There is a CVS pharmacy a little over a block away, perfect for late night or early morning needs. For cultural diversion, you have the famous Museum of Natural History and the Hayden Planetarium just 1 subway stop south or 6 blocks away! Of course you won't forget that Central Park is a block to your east, a favorite for local joggers or softball players. For bikers, check out the Hudson River Greenway, about 5 blocks west, which runs all the way to Inwood from downtown Manhattan.
If you need to get out of the area, this apartment is located between two subway stations, allowing you flexibility depending on your destination. The B and C train line at Central Park West and 86th Street and the local 1 train at Broadway and 86th are both within two blocks of the apartment. Each line runs north/south, from Harlem to lower Manhattan, with stops in trendy parts of NYC like Chelsea, Midtown, the West Village and SoHo, as well as Brooklyn. New York is waiting for you!

The Apartment was great and the 5 story walk up was great for the calves and glutes. It seemed as if the apartment had not been inhabited for quite some time, as soon after I took the place, the neighbors below complained about various noise issues (walking before 7 am, cell phones vibrating in the overnight, etc.) |

Eric, as you know you had to pass a quick interview with the board to be approved since the building is a coop. You mentioned on that day that you were living alone and that you had no pet (as required). But after one month it appeared that you were living with someone (no problem with that of course) but also that there was a dog full time in the apartment. |
