Experience Brooklyn like a local at this 1 bedroom apartment with sleeping alcove located in a classic 19th century brownstone in the Bedford Stuyvesant (known by locals as “Bed-Stuy”) section of Brooklyn in New York City. The apartment is located on the 3rd floor (2nd floor European) of a 3 story brownstone building with northern and southern exposures located near Hancock Street & Malcom X Boulevard.
The apartment has a renovated and updated look while still maintaining classic brownstone features including the decorative fireplace and exposed brick walls. Styled with dark wood flooring and contemporary furnishings, the living room provides a comfortable place to gather with a sectional sofa that opens to a queen sofa bed along with a flat screen TV for entertainment and a charming decorative fireplace. The spacious and fully equipped kitchen fitted with light wood cabinetry and tile floors is convenient for preparing meals at home and features stainless steel appliances including a stove/oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, refrigerator and dishwasher. A bistro table with bar stools in the kitchen area provides space to enjoy meals. The bedroom is painted in turquoise and is furnished with a queen bed and night table along with a dresser for storage, a full length mirror and a flat screen TV. Two large windows allow natural light to fill the room. The sleeping alvoce (living room 2) is smaller, painted in tan and is furnished with a double size bed and chair along with a dresser for storage. The bathroom has tile throughout along with a pedestal sink and toilet and features unique exposed brick walls and a rainfall shower along with a separate luxurious sunken tub to relax in after a long day in the city.
Bedford Stuyvesant is a neighborhood located in the north central section of Brooklyn bordered by Williamsburg, Clinton Hill, Bushwick and Crown Heights. You can find many historical brownstones here, especially if you take a stroll through the Stuyvesant Heights Historic District where you can admire the history and architecture of these classic NYC buildings. Try some of the neighborhood restaurants including Peaches (.3mi/.48km away) for Southern food, seafood, breakfast and brunch or Grandchamps Kitchen & Market (.2mi/.32km away) offering traditional Haitian cuisine. After a long day, the aptly-named Therapy Wine Bar (.6 mi/.96 km away) is close at hand to provide some much needed liquid therapy.
The closest subway access can be found at Gates Avenue / Broadway (J/Z train lines) and Utica Avenue / Fulton Street (A/C lines).
