This approximately 600 square foot (60 m²) 1 Bedroom/1 Bath furnished brownstone apartment is located on the third floor (2nd for Europeans) of a 3-story walk up brownstone near Decatur Street and Albany Street in the Bedford Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn. Located on a residential street lined with brownstones, this brownstone building dates back to approximately 1899. The furnished 1 bedroom apartment for rent has a “home-like” feel with wood floors throughout and personal decorative touches.
Please note that the hallway is open to the stairwell and lower levels so it is not an enclosed apartment.
At one end of the apartment, facing the street is the living room. A lovely decorative fireplace is the focal point of this space. Off to the corner near the fireplace there is a wooden dining table with seating for 4 people. The plush couch makes this a cozy space to relax or watch the cable equipped TV. The couch can also open to a double sofa bed for guests. Windows with northern exposure facing the tree lined street fill the room with sunlight and a ceiling fan light fixture helps to move the fresh air around. The tiled open kitchen area has wood cabinets for storage. For preparing meals at your new home the kitchen is equipped with a toaster, microwave, oven, 4 burner stove, and refrigerator. As you make your way to the opposite end of the apartment where the bedroom is located you pass the elegantly tiled beige and white bathroom. The bathroom features a luxurious Jacuzzi tub and a separate fully tiled shower, a pedestal sink and toilet, as well as a mirror. A skylight adds more natural light to the space. The bedroom at the far end of the apartment has 2 identical full sized beds. Bed linens are provided. Two sunny windows with southern exposure face the trees in the back garden, allowing you to wake to the great view of nature in New York City. There is an air conditioner in one of the windows for use in the summer months and the room has a ceiling fan light fixture as well to circulate fresh air. You’ll find a chair and night table in the corner by the window, perfect for a little late night reading. For storing your belongings there is a wooden dresser and plenty of closet space including a walk-in closet with shelving and extra blankets and linens.
Bedford-Stuyvesant is in the central part of Brooklyn. The main thoroughfare is Nostrand Avenue (4.1mi/6,6km), while Fulton Street (0.5mi/805m) is the main shopping street in the area and lies above the main subway line of the area (the A/C line). On Fulton Street you’ll find fast–food restaurants, pharmacies, banks, grocery stores, and laundromats. Some local restaurants to try near this one bedroom rental include Peaches (0.7mi/1.12km) for Southern/Soul food, or Saraghina (0.8mi/1.28km) for Italian dishes. Therapy Wine Bar (0.8mi/1.28km) is the pace to hit for beverages of the adult kind. If you’re craving some nature, Brooklyn has many small neighborhood parks, but Prospect Park (3.1mi/5km), a popular tourist attraction about 1.8 miles away off of the neighboring Crown Heights area is certainly not to be missed. In all seasons of the year there is always something to do or see in Prospect Park. And if you prefer to just stroll around and get lost in the greenery, the never ending nature trails and pedestrian paths provide plenty of opportunity to do so. For some expeditions of the cultural kind you have the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, and the main Brooklyn Library all right near Prospect Park.

This was an excellent place to stay for six weeks. The owner (who lived downstairs) was extremely kind and helpful, with lots of great recommendations on grocery stores, laundromats, etc. I would happily stay here again. |

No street noice, but during cold winter the steam heating system makes noices which I needed time to get used to. There was a microrave, toaster, an iron and a hairdryer, spare linen, everything I neended. |

We stayed in this apartment for three months and we had a great time living there! The apartment was very spacious and quit. We had everything that we needed. We were very happy to see that there was a toaster, an iron and a hairdryer available (things you don't always find in every apartment!). |

Our landlady was fantastic. Helpful in everyday, giving information and helping us to find other rentals after our stay was up. She had all the appliances and furnishings one could hope for: TV, internet, pot, pans, toasters, irons, etc...Also on the late night when we arrived she had a pizza and a fruit salad waiting for us. |

Thank you. I must say Giulio and Clara were the most delightful couple, very nurturing and caring. They treated me as if I was part of their family. |
