1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom - Sleeps 2

Balancing old warm charm and modern décor, this one bedroom apartment for rent in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn has a lively vibe that will be great to come home to! Located on Macon Street and Marcus Garvey Boulevard, it sits on the second floor (considered 1 floor in Europe) of a walk-up brownstone building that dates from the turn of the 20th century. For privacy purposes and convenient guest entry, a buzzer/intercom system is in place. The apartment is very close to the subway and perfect for corporate stays.

Inside the apartment, you will be greeted with pressed tin ceilings and a double set of large windows. Wood floors line the base of the home, and white-and-red walls pop with bright color. The living room features an office alcove (living room 2) furnished with a desk that can be separated with French doors, and has a ceiling fan for air circulation. The bedroom is accessible through the kitchen, where the red accents are carried though on the smaller appliances. The private bedroom includes a queen sized bed and two floor-to-ceiling windows. A ceiling fan with lamp provides additional lighting and an air conditioner is available during hot summer days. A walk in closet equipped with shelf space attaches to this bedroom.

The owner of this apartment is happy to provide neighborhood tips and recommendations to allow you to settle into the Bed Stuy community. The owner also guarantees that the apartment will be thoroughly disinfected and cleaned.

The apartment is on a peaceful, tree-lined block. It was incredibly quiet and very clean, the bed comfy and it has all the amenities anyone would need for a stay in Brooklyn. Lots of great neighborhood places to eat and easy access to the A and C subway trains. The owner was helpful and responsive. I enjoyed my stay and slept like a baby.

Ms Marcia is wonderful lady and she was very helpful if I needed anything. The apartment had everything that I wanted and I was very comfortable (lived there for 3 months). I highly recommend staying at this location! Plus Brooklyn is wonderful too!

I highly recommend this apartment for short or long term stay!

About the apartment:
The apartment has literally everything you could ever need: kitchen appliances, bathroom amenities, air conditioning units, fans, lights, mirrors, towels, sheets, cleaning supplies, Roku box - pretty much anything you could ever think of! The apartment is spacious, well lit and very clean. I never had to turn the lights on during the day thanks to the large windows in every room. I worked from home, so I appreciated having an office space with a big, comfy desk chair. I found it more comfortable to extend the futon in the living room as a bed instead of keeping it as a couch, but it was great to have both options. I stayed in the apartment during one of the hottest months of summer and was so grateful to have an apartment with such a good air conditioning unit - it only took a few minutes to cool down the place!

About the location:
As I'm sure you've gathered from the other reviews, the apartment is in a great location. A laundromat, supermarket, dollar store, hardware store and library are all just around the corner or down the street. The Kingston stop on the C train is less than 5 minutes away and you can also walk to Nostrand Ave in about 10 minutes to get on the (much faster) A train. Crown Heights is a wonderful community and immediately I felt at home. I had my car with me and I never had a problem finding street parking (but you may want to note that I was working from home, so I usually moved my car during the day when there were ample spaces available).

About the host:
Marcia is a wonderful owner/landlord/host! She is accommodating and a clear communicator. When I arrived she ensured that I had everything that I needed and that I felt comfortable in the neighborhood. During my time she was extremely respectful of my space and only stopped by or reached out to me when I asked or when it was necessary. I had almost no problems during my stay and the only issue I did have she resolved immediately. I also appreciate that she was prompt in returning my security deposit at the end of my stay. I highly recommend staying at any of Marcia's properties - she won't disappoint you!

How should I start.... Let me just saying that my Fiance and I have stayed there for 9monthes. We built so many beautiful and fun memories from this place. The picture can not describe how clean and beautiful this place is. All the utensils, tools, dishes, and even electronics. You dont have to bring anything but clothes.

Also the owner of this place, Marcia, is such a wonderful lady. She is kind, genuine, and very friendly. She became one of our best friends in New York.

The place is three blocks away from subway staion, and the ride to the city takes 20~40 depends how far you are going in the city.
There are so many hidden spots in town, that we regrat that we didnt visit all of them.

We will always remember staying in this place, and we hope that the next tenants do the same thing. We will definitely stay here when we visit Brooklyn next time.

I hope this review helped.

This was our first time visit to New York. We had to search for a suitable furnished place to stay in for a couple month without signing for a 6 or full year contract. Our general impression for the apartment was excellent. The space fits perfectly for 2 person and it contained all what we needed at that time.My wife was impressed with all the kitchen's appliances and equipment we did not even need to buy anything extra.

What was very helpful to us as being both students is the privacy and the usage of the small office, which is separated from the living room. We came in fall/winter time, the apartment was warm and cozy. The neighborhood street was quiet giving the apartment a noiseless environment. The neighbors were very loving and friendly. Regarding the street parking, we did not find any problem because we always found a spot to park our car. Moreover, the location for the apartment is ideal for exploring the city. The subway station is 2 minute far and it was a prime train we took to explore Brooklyn and Manhattan cities.

We enjoyed our time there and it was our pleasure to meet the owner. she was a kind, lovely and understandable person. We definitely recommend this place. Certainly this will be our choice next time we visit New york.

We've have had a great stay at Marcia's place. She is a great lady; honest, punctual and very friendly.

The apartment is well furnished and has everything from plastic bags to the dishwasher.
Everything is just around(5 min walk); the laundromat, the grocery store, the subway station...etc
We've had just a couple of horrible nights when it was labor day weekend and the neighbors next door decided to party all night!

other than that 5/5 :)

If my parents decided to come and visit, this is definitely what I will rent for them.

It was a pleasure having you stay here. We are glad that you found the amenities to be everything that you expected. I would love to accommodate your parents when they come to New York. Thank You for having the confidence in us to come again. Your invitation to come again is open as you were wonderful guests. I am sorry that you experienced a little discomfort from our neighbors during the Labor Day Weekend. New York has a large Caribbean Community and this is one of the few holidays that our neighbors from the Caribbean like to celebrate with food, festivities and music. I apologize on their behalf if they were a little over exuberant this particular weekend. I will be sure to ask them to be more mindful going forward. Thank You again for your wonderful feedback. I look forward to meeting your parents.

This was a fantastic apartment and I cannot say enough good things about it or the owner. The apartment looks exactly like the photographs and the kitchen is amazing-all new appliances and large for a Brooklyn apartment. The apartment was also quiet which is another thing that is hard to find in Brooklyn. The owner is super friendly and will help you with anything that you need. The location is great and you can get around quite easily. Its also located in a friendly neighbourhood. The apartment itself is really clean and spacious. I highly recommend this apartment to anyone traveling to New York, as I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would rent this place again in the future.

I had a very very pleasant stay at Marcia's place, the apartment is exactly like the pictures and even more spacious in reality, the rooms are big and has lots of space for bags clothes and anything you need. The bedroom has a queen size bed and and a dressing closet very spacious. The living room also has a sofa bed. It's very clean and has everything you need for the kitchen, bedding, bathroom.

The area is a residential area, very quiet and safe at the same time you have around supermarkets, restaurants, the subway is very near the house too. The owner is one of the best hosts I ever met, extremely helpful and always there if you need anything at all, she tries to make her tenants as comfortable and happy as possible.

I would recommend this apartment without hesitating and my next visit to New York I won't think of staying somewhere else.

The apartment is really great. I mean, you can almost feel like home. But for the price, I expected something close to not "perfection" but, you know, something good. I had to buy a mirror, a night table and even a bedside lamp. Those are maybe small things but trust me, when you live somewhere for 4 months, far from home, those little things become essentials. The dishwasher isn't fixed to the wall and when you use it, it smells like smoke everywhere in the apartment. And if you go there to work, like me, make sure your laptop is compatible with the wifi. Otherwise, you won't have access to the Internet.

About the landlord, she's a good person but she rarely lets you know when she is coming to visit or not. And don't hope to ask for something that doesn't fit to the agreement, the only answer you'll have is a "no".

If you don't care about those things, that's fine, this apartment is for you! Otherwise, keep looking.

Hello Morgane,

Thank you for your stay at our property. It is always my goal to provide the best service so that tenants will feel warm, welcomed and comfortable. If you had expressed that the night stand, lamp, etc were essential items to make your stay more comfortable, I would have been more than happy to accommodate you. Although previous guests had never brought this to my attention before, my current guest requested a mirror, so I immediately added one to the unit. My sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. The dishwasher is not designed to be mounted or fixed to the wall and I have made arrangements to have it checked thoroughly based on your comment.

I agree that it is important for the Wi-Fi to be available. Unfortunately a client's device configuration is beyond our control. Thank goodness that our internet service provider was able to make the corrections to your laptop and get you up and running once it was determined that the problem was with your laptop configuration and not our Wi-Fi system. The one day that I stopped by unannounced was because of my concern that you were not able to access the internet and I did not want to delay getting it fixed. It is never my intention to intrude upon tenants and had you let me know that it was an imposition I would have gladly come at a more convenient time to troubleshoot.

There were a number of requests that I was unable to comply with as per our lease agreement. For example, allowing tenants to use up the security deposit while in tenancy is not allowed. The unit is designed for short term stays for no more than 2 people. Therefore your request for a year to 2 year stay and additional guests not on the original lease could not be accommodated. Where I was able to accommodate you, I gladly did so (e.g. making arrangement for a 4:00pm departure instead of the agreed upon 11:00am).

We appreciate your feedback and once again, thank you for your stay.

Marcia's apartment is located in a neighborhood that is very quiet and relaxing after Manhattan's hustle and bustle. You are in Times Square in 25 min which is nice. We loved the neighborhood. People are very friendly.

The apartment is exactly as described on the website and we felt at home! It is well equipped and very pleasant.

Besides, Marcia is very welcoming and was always available to answer our various queries. She also gave us very good tips on places to visit and other things.

Marcia, thanks again for everything.
