Don’t want to come to the big city alone? Renting a room is a great way to make easy friends – with your roommates! This budget-friendly five bedroom apartment share in Harlem, Manhattan may be perfect for you.
Located on West 121st Street & Lenox Avenue, these rooms for rent in a five bedroom apartment share sit on the 3rd and 4th American floors (considered 2nd and 3rd floors in Europe) of a 4-story prewar brownstone building. Use of a staircase is necessary to access the rooms. The property comes equipped with a shared laundry washer/dryer located in the basement, and a backyard/garden area with a barbecue. An intercom security system provides protection.
Please Note: This is a room for rent in a shared apartment. Only the bedroom (and in some cases, a bathroom) will be private. There is no access to the living room. There is only a small kitchenette that is shared with all tenants.
Each private bedroom features such beloved prewar qualities as high ceilings and hardwood floors. All bedrooms except bedroom 5 include stately, beautiful decorative fireplaces. Wooden molding bordering the doorways and windows give each room a warm and old-world ambiance.
Bedroom 1, Bedroom 2, and Bedroom 3 come equipped with queen-sized beds, personal cable televisions, and desks or tables for workspace. Bedroom 3 also includes an antique sofa. Bedroom 1 and Bedroom 2 include an attached en-suite bathroom that is private to the tenant.
Bedroom 4 and Bedroom 5 provide one double bed and personal cable television each. Bedroom 4 offers wooden dressers with drawers for item storage space, an armchair for guest seating, and a glass bedside table. Bedroom 5 includes closet space for item storage and a long wooden desk for workspace.
Tenants of bedrooms 3, 4, and 5 will share bathroom 3. A rather large bathroom, it is furnished with an antique tub. The kitchen (shared with all tenants) offers most essential cooking appliances to make your favorite meals!
Set in the historic neighborhood of Harlem, Manhattan, this apartment share is just a few steps away from Marcus Garvey Park (203ft/66m). Basic living facilities and shops surround the home: there is a food supermarket, Pathmark, just 0.6mi (1km) away and a basic goods store/pharmacy, Rite Aid, just 0.4mi (550m) from the accommodation. Attractions within walking distance include The Studio Museum in Harlem (0.4mi/600m), the Apollo Theater (0.5mi/900m), and the National Jazz Museum in Harlem (0.6mi/1km).

I just have good words for both the house and the landlords. Great location. Has everything you need. House as pictures (cooler in person) |

The hosts are very friendly and understanding. The only drawback is the kitchen which is really awful and the lack of a common room which does not facilitate the communication with the other roommates. |

It was a pleasure having you with us last summer Lou. You were a great guest. We agree, the kitchenette is not a full sized kitchen and no, there is no common room available for the guests to get together so your review seems very fair and accurate to us. Thank you for your stay with us, we appreciated having you here. Good luck to you in all your future endeavors. |

The housemates and landlords are very nice people. It's a pleasure living with them. The room is large and the building is kept clean. The kitchenette is convenient and the bathroom spacious. The location in conveniently located near subways, grocery stores, restaurants and Marcus Garvey Park. |

I enjoyed my stay here. The owners didn't expect much besides keeping things tidy and respecting other guests. I stayed here for ~3 months during my internship in midtown. Commute was simple and relatively quick (20 min to Times Square). Very close to all respected Harlem restaurants. |

We were so sorry to see Sharon go! She was a pleasure to have around, a great friend and conversationalist. We are excited about her career opportunities and disappointed that she has to temporarily distance herself from New York, but we know she'll be back and we're rooting for her success! |

I really enjoyed the months I spent in Richard and Celeste's apartment, they are very nice. The only thing I found sometimes stressing was the small dimension of the kitchen. But I am very satisfied by this staying and I would suggest this house! |

R and C could not be more convivial or conscientious as hosts. They are super attentive to everyone's needs and just lovely people. The room was warm year round and provided everything exactly as indicated in the description. I highly recommend renting a room here. |

The landlords are great! So welcoming, accommodating and warm. The location is great, nearby so many subway stations, great restaraunts and grocery stores. The building itself is beautiful as well as clean, warm environment and NY friendly. Meaning free laundry and ammenities paid for! Even the block itself is so pretty, I loved walking down it at any time of night, or even sit on the steps and read. If I'm ever in NYC for a long stay again, I would definitely hope to stay here again! |

The room I rented was just perfect, the owners were really nice and helped me whenever I needed. The kitchen was just a little small but it was OK. I had everything I needed during my stay. It was just perfect and I can't wait to come back in New York again ! |

The apartment is very spacious and has lots of closets and storage space. I stayed there for 5 months and it was really great. The apartment is very close to a subway line. The photos perfectly matched the reality, so, no unpleasant surprises! |

The only bad point would be the kitchen. Everything was really good other than that. The landlordswere nice, the room was litteraly HUGE. The bathroom was nice. Everything. |

Thank you, Côme, for choosing to stay with us. We enjoyed having you here. Your sense of humor and enthusiasm were infectious. We are not surprised that the little kitchenette was not adequate to your needs. You're well on your way to becoming a great cook! We're glad to know that your internship went well and wish you continued success in your career. |
