This studio apartment is situated on the 5th and top floor (considered 4th by Europeans) of a walk-up building in Les Halles, in the 1st arrondissement of Paris. Dating back to the 18th century, the building features an intercom security system and the apartment has two balconies on opposite ends, making the most of its east-west exposure.
The beautiful balconies, with potted evergreens and flowers, overlook the pedestrian streets below. The larger one has a wooden patio table, four matching chairs, and a sunshade; it faces the elaborate roof and towers of the Church of Saint-Leu-Saint Giles, located right across the street. The smaller balcony offers lovely views of neighboring buildings with typical Parisian rooftops.
Inside, the ceilings are lined with exposed beams, which pair nicely with the hardwood floors and wooden cabinetry. The living area is furnished with a double bed and a unique wooden loveseat, facing the open kitchen. In addition to the breakfast bar, the kitchen has a neat countertop and three high chairs made of wrought iron and leather. It is equipped with all the conventional cooking appliances and utensils.
There is also a TV with cable, stereo, telephone, wireless Internet access, and washer-dryer combo. Double doors, made of antique wood, open onto the bathroom, which is lined with terracotta Moroccan tiles. The bathroom contains a bathtub with detachable showerhead, large mirror under built-in spotlights, cupboard below a white ceramic washbasin, and toilet.
Aside from its interior allure, the best thing about this studio is definitely its convenient location on the pedestrian Rue du Cygne, between Boulevard de Sebastopol & Rue Pierre Lescot, very close to several venues worth visiting, such as the Georges Pompidou Cultural Center and Paris City Hall, around 0.3 miles (480 meters) away.
The closest metro station is Étienne Marcel on the 4 line, just 325 feet away. Additionally, the major subway and RER hub, Châtelet-Les Halles (on lines 1, 4, 7, 11, 14, B, C and D), is only 0.2 miles (320m) away.

The apartment was great. It was old so it got a bit dusty. I had a fantastic stay there and Raphaël was an incredible host |

Thanks for all these stars Brenna! Indeed, the building dates back to the 17th century, with traditional wooden structure, beams and hardwood floors. For all that, the dust you found had nothing to do with the existence of the building, but rather with the works taking place in the area, which are luckily ending. Indeed, the Forum des Halles, the gardens and the roads of the pedestrian zone where we are located have been entirely renovated. |
