Discover this alcove studio apartment in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris, in the Montorgueil district. This area of Paris is close to the River Seine and is for pedestrians only, great for walking around without cars in your way. Being situated on the 4th floor (5th for Americans) of a walk-up in a 19th century building, the apartment offers views on the roofs of Paris, giving it a quaint charm. Entrance to the building is made through a digicode security system.
In this studio, you have high ceilings, exposed beams and exposed stonewalls in combination with simple modern furniture, giving you the best of the old and the new worlds. The apartment offers Southern exposure and as it’s not directly facing other buildings, the living room is filled with sunlight as soon as the first rays of light show up. Renovated in 2022, the layout and appliances are convenient, including a dishwasher and a washing machine.
The owners can provide maps and guides of Paris as well as the restaurants and stores they recommend nearby. Since cars aren’t allowed in the district, take a walk in some of the oldest streets of Paris! 50 meters (165 feet) far from the apartment, you will be able to find numerous stores (bakeries, butchers, grocery stores), restaurants and shops. You are also given the opportunity to reach famous restaurants by foot! Depending on how long you’d like to walk, you have several restaurants between 850 meters and 2 kilometers (0.53 and 1.24 mi): Le Grand Véfour, located in the gardens of the Palais Royal, Le Carré des Feuillants (Haute Cuisine Française), Drouant or Café Marly (French Gastronomy).
Located in the 2nd arrondissment in Montorgueil, the very middle of Paris, you can easily reach the Sorbonne University which is around 5 metro stops away on the other bank of the Seine as well as the Louvre Palace, School and Museum, a little over ½ a mile from the rue Tiquetonne. You will be able to enjoy it and its famous park, the Jardin des Tuileries, as often as you want! You can also reach the Bourse (stock exchange) by foot, about 650 meters (0.4 mi) away or the Gare de l’Est train station, only 4 metro stops away, perfect for taking you to other destinations throughout France. The Bourse - Sentier - Montorgueil area has plenty to offer.
As for nearby transportation, you’re only 230 meters far from Etienne Marcel metro station, which serves the 4 and 12 lines, 500 meters (1/3 mi) far from the Châtelet Les Halles metro station, which is on the 1, 4, 11, 14, A, B, D lines and 450 meters (0.25mi) far from the Réaumur-Sébastopol station (line 3)! Connections to the rest of Paris are just outside your door.
