Are you a single traveler looking to experience Paris on a budget? This lovely studio apartment in the Montparnasse area of the 14th arrondissement may be ideal for you!
The quaint studio home, renovated in 2022, is located on Rue de Gergovie between Rue Raymond Losserand and Rue d'Alésia, near the community of Alesia. It is on the top floor of a 6-story (considered 7-story) 19th century elevator building with built-in coded security system. There is one large French window in the main room which faces the quiet courtyard and allows sunlight to brighten the space. The studio is quiet, bright, and is not overlooked.
Lined with hardwood floors, the home features a personal laundry washing machine, flat-screen cable television and a double sofa bed. The small kitchen presents red-tiled backsplash and a small cabinet. Essential cooking appliances are here including two electric burners, microwave, a fridge/freezer, kettle, nespresso coffeemaker and toaster. The studio is fully furnished and includes bed linen.
Paris’s Montparnasse neighborhood was named after “Mount Parnassus”, a nickname given to the area by students of poetry in the 18th century. Fittingly, Montparnasse was once the center of arts and culture in the city (becoming famous in the early 20th century), and now houses a hub of historic buildings and institutions. Be sure to check out nearby attractions Cartier Contemporary Art Foundation (1.6km/1mi), Paris Catacombs Museum (1.4km/0.9mi) and the famous Montparnasse Cemetery (1km/0.6mi). Open air markets, cafes and eateries surround the area in easy walking distance. Rue Raymond Losserand is a vibrant street with numerous shops, restaurants and bars.
To explore other Paris neighborhoods walk to the Alesia metro station to catch the 4 train (750m/0.5mi). Additionally you may walk to the Plaisance metro station for the 13 train (450m/0.3mi).

The price should drop significantly. Given the apartments small size, considerable distance from busy areas, troublesome appliances (needs new washer and would be better with a small oven), and additional utility fees, the apartment is NOT worth it current listing price. |
