We stayed in NY for five months. We were very satisfied with the apartment, the building and the location. The maintenance crew of the building was very helpful!

The apartment is very well located in the East Village, close to the subway.
The building is very quiet, which is a huge plus.
It is equipped (dishes, furniture) in accordance with the property description.
However, due to its proximity to other buildings and the fact that it is on a first floor, the apartment is very dark, even during sunny summer days. Although this may not be an issue for guests who spend little time there during the day, which was our case.

I'm glad to hear the apartment worked out good for you. Our location makes the building very desirable.

Decent apartment for 2 people, can accommodate two extra renters.
Small but suitable for short stays, in a strategic location in East Village. Dark even in the daytime, the windows open onto a small balcony at the back of the building. In the next door building, there is a couple with a dog that does its business on the balcony but as its masters never clean, it makes it impossible to keep the windows open. It is hot in the winter but also in the summer despite the air conditioning.
The neighbors are definitely noisy, on Fridays there is always somebody who has a party until late at night, but you have to bear in mind that it is a neighborhood with a young population and there are new renters moving into the same building all the time.
The owner is helpful and attentive to all your needs. Be careful with the appliances which are not of the best quality and get easily damaged.

The condition of the apartment was very good. The super was very helpful replacing a faulty air-conditioner on the day I moved in. I appreciated the microwave, but would have liked some microwave cookware to accompany it. Since I rented the apartment for only a month, some basic cleaning materials for the toilet, floors, sinks and dishes would have been nice as would a summary of the available TV stations, some basic cooking supplies like salt and pepper and sugar, and fresh batteries in the smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
Still, overall I rate my experience "above average" and would rent the apartment again.
